Benedict Sports Complex - Field 1

  • Welcome to PMC’s league night draft tournament! We want to invite all current and former players and members of the PMC community (and their families) out for a night of fun, tournament style!

  • The date of the tournament will be Wednesday, March 1st at Benedict Sports Complex (field 1).

  • Captains will scout players during our PMC Kickball Combine. The purpose of the PMC Kickball Combine is to have players showcase their abilities to the captains that will potentially draft them. The PMC Kickball Combine will be Wednesday, February 22 at Benedict Sports Complex.

  • Players eligible for the tournament must:

  • Be a former or current PMC kickball player

  • Must attend the scouting night

  • The PMC Kickball Combine will include (but not be limited to) pitching, kicking, baserunning, and bunting mini-events.

  • Players that attend the PMC Kickball Combine earn priority on the draft list. Players that cannot attend but still want to play will be placed on the exception list.

  • Players with approved exceptions for missing are eligible to be drafted during the final three rounds.

  • There will be a tournament that includes five (5) total teams; five (5) total captains. One (1) game will be played at a time due to field space limitations.

  • Each game will be a 5-inning matchup that features players that are all draftees selected by their respective captains. You read that right; this is a draft tournament!

  • The rules of the League Night Tournament games will be in accordance with the PMC Kickball Rulebook (posted on PMC’s website).

  • The times, team seeds, and matchups of the League Night Tournament games will be announced later on.

  • There will be two separate drafts, one for male players and one for female players.

  • Here is how the draft process works for female players:

  • Five (5) captains will be selected accordingly for all teams. One (1) captain per team. Let us know if you want to captain!

  • The women’s draft will take place first with the men’s draft occurring subsequently.

  • The same five (5) captains will select all players on the priority list, then all players on the exception list at the end.

  • The draft order will be decided by a few games at the draft. The draft will be held Sunday, February 26.

  • The order for the woman’s draft will be the reverse order of the men’s snake draft meaning the pick order goes through the opposite reversal each round. (Ex. team 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 in round one, followed by 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in round two and subsequently)

  • Captains will make one pick per round to fill their rosters.

  • Here is how the draft process works for male players:

  • The same five (5) captains will select all players on the priority list, then all players on the exception list (during the last three rounds).

  • The men’s draft will follow the women’s draft.

  • The order will follow that of a snake draft, meaning the pick order goes through a reversal each round. (Ex. team 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in round one, followed by 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 in round two and subsequently)

  • Captains will make one pick per round to fill their rosters.

  • Roster size per team will range from 12-14 players.

  • Captains will elect team colors. Players that are drafted will be designated the color of their team captain. (Ex. players that get drafted by the team red captain will wear red shirts)

  •

  • PMC KICKBALL COMBINE

  •

  • PMC Kickball Combine will be Wednesday evening, February 22 at Benedict Sports Complex.

  • The PMC Kickball Combine is an event held by the PMC community that consists of mini-events designed to showcase our players’ talents as they prepare to be drafted for the League Night Draft Tournament on March 1. The first mini-event will take place at 7 PM with the next mini-event occurring subsequently. Each mini-event will be fifty-five (55) minutes. They are:

  • (7:00 - 7:55) Paint Those Lines!:(Pitch Off)

  • This mini-event will feature a competition of pitching and/or bunting.

  • Each participating kicker will have four (4) pitches thrown to them. All pitches must be considered strikes to count for or against the bunter. In other words, kickers are allowed to not swing at pitches that are considered balls. Any pitch where a kicker makes contact counts towards the total allotted pitches.

  • Each Kicker should see at least 2 separate pitchers

  • Each participating pitcher will also be evaluated on how well they can prevent kickers from placing accurate bunts.

  • Each participating pitcher must pitch to at least 3 total batters, throwing 4 pitches (strouls) per kicker. Pitchers will receive 5 points for every unsuccessful bunter, meaning the bunter cannot have one successful bunt during his/her turn.

  • Balls, Strouls, and Velocity will be tallied per pitcher as well.

  • Field Setup: Two (2) cones will be placed 4 feet apart from each baseline, fifteen (15) feet down the baseline (from home plate). Baselines will be spray-painted as well as the gray area for bunts.

  • Kickers will be evaluated on how well they place a bunt on the third (3rd) or first (1st) baseline. Kickers should be aiming to place their bunts in between the cones.

  • Points will be earned based on the ball’s proximity to the cones. Five (5) points will be earned for every bunt that ends through the cones. Two (2) points will be earned for every bunt that lands three (3) feet from the cones. The 3-foot spots from the cones will be marked with white spray paint.

  • If the ball goes into foul territory, the kicker will receive no points.

  • If the ball goes towards the pitcher, the kicker will receive no points.

  • The kicker with the most points places the highest in the mini-event.

  • Placement for each kicker will be tallied and released after the combine.

  •

  • (8:00 - 8:55 PM) Bombs Away!:

  • This mini-event will feature those that want to compete in power kicking.

  • Each participating kicker will have four (4) total pitches thrown to them: a combination of underhand (rolling on the ground) and/or overhand (bouncing). All pitches must be considered strikes to count for in or against. In other words, kickers are allowed to not swing at pitches that are considered balls. Any pitch where a kicker makes contact counts towards the total allotted pitches.

  • Field Setup: Eight (8) cones will be placed in the outfield (Right, Right-Center, Left, Left-Center), each measuring one-hundred-and-fifty (150) feet from home plate.

  • Kickers must kick each ball as far as they can towards the cones with these 4 pitches.

  • Kicks will be marked at the area where the ball first touches the ground.

  • Kicks that land at or after the cones will be deemed home runs.

  • Kickers will receive 2 points for each home run kicked.

  • Kicks that land within seven (7) feet of the cones (in fair territory) will earn 1 point. Each 7-foot mark will be spray-painted (white) accordingly.

  • Placement for each kicker will be tallied and released after the combine.

  •

  • (9:00 - 9:55) Race to the Finish!

  • This mini-event will feature baserunning.

  • Baserunners will be timed and evaluated on how quickly they can run around all four bases in one sprint.

  • The stopwatch will start at 0:00 with the baserunner standing on home plate. The stopwatch will be stopped when the baserunner reaches home plate after running around the base cycle.

  • Field Setup: 4 bases will be laid out sixty (60) feet apart from each other: 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, and home plate.

  • Placement for each kicker will be tallied and released after the combine.
